In the past few years, my art practice has been concerned with heady ideas of epistemology, history, archives, society's relationship with art, and museum practice. More recently, I have been wanting to delve into more personal themes of intimacy, loss, epiphany and memory that point to an emerging new reality or consciousness. While I've made explicitly queer work in the past, exploring this terrain feels urgent at a time when society is becoming increasingly hostile to queer people. Young people today are negotiating gender and sexual identity in radically different ways. The artworks in \"That Summer...\" are me trying to remember what it felt like to be a queer boy in the late Eighties and early Nineties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Artwork is available.
